Hi all..I am from the rsd group but was wondering if I have a neuropathy going on.. Lately when I am sleeping I get the horrific pain in booth feet! It is hard to describe but when I try and move my toes the pain is off the charts. I noticed my feet were also very hot before I went to bed and I put lidocaine patches on the bottom of my feet but it did nothing. Any thoughts,,,My feet are painful all day but sleeping is the worst!
Thanks Debbie |

--it would not be all that surprising, as RSD/CRPS and neuropathy are thought to be closely related, and, in fact, many categorize RSD/CRPS as a type of neuropathy mediated by autonomic maintenance, and often involving the deterioration of small, unmyelianted axons:

Your pain is consistent with RSD/CRPS. It is a type of neuropathy that is due to dysfunction of the sympathetic nervous system. The pain you have moving your toes is called allodynia, or pain that results from normally non-painful activities. Most people with CRPS have cold sensations, but there some folks experience hot sensations like you are. It would be best to treat this with whatever plan you have in place with your physician
