IM in Asia so hiring a bike is easy , no license etc all okay.
However after a week of hiring a Honda 125cc scooter no gears it really gave me a lift. Just cruising around without having to do anything but concentrate on the road was a real thrill, to the point Im looking at buying a yamaha TMAX 500cc big fat automatic cruiser. One thing I noticed, or should I say DIDNT notice was any pain at all. needing full concentration elsewhere really does work , maybe its the adrenalin if your not a regular biker. Riding in sandals is a worry but Im past the point of worrying about every Little thing. Anyone else riding? if you can lift a leg you can have fun plus get long distances in a flash. Just a thought ![]() |

Hi zorro13,
Good to hear your able to get around and enjoying it. I haven't worn shoes all winter and finally got out side yesterday in the wheelchair, I converted a riding lawnmower for getting around outside and have a 4 wheel ATV for riding around the countryside, this beats the hassle of an electric wheelchair. Glad your enjoying your trip. |

Just try to wear something a bit more protective than sandals.
I know in Asia they ride with flip-flops without regard to safety, but with PN you should protect your......... footsies. Have fun.

nide and echo have thrown caution to the wind. Its great to have adrenalin going and not staring at my feet , lets face it we stare at our feet when there burning it always turns the burning up a few notches?
![]() If I could wear shoes I would still be working ![]() trying to figure out what else I could enjoy. I was a flight instructor in my twenties and could hire a plane again after minimal instruction but surely the meds may interfere with vertigo. i have thought about how P/N airline pilot's do it but gee, apart from a few low banking turns its all a flat ride really and co pilot is there if needed. What do others here do for thrills? |
