Hello.
I have had 24 hour urine test for heavy metals and it was negative. But I always hear that urine test is not accurate. So does any one know how and where can I get hair test done. Is there a legitimate company I can get this from online. Thankyou everyone P.s. Has any one heard from invisible? Tulips Last edited by Tulips; 04-28-2011 at 04:28 PM. Hi Tulips - I do not know where you can get the hair test, but I have a question about your 24 hour urine test. Did they give you an oral chelating medication to take, such as DMSA capsules? That's what they did with me and came back positive for mercury, lead, and something else. I've had heavy metals testing twice. Once in 1999 using King James Lab and again in 2010 using Doctors Data Lab. With King James, I did a 24 urine capture with DMSA. With Doctors Data, I did a six hour urine capture with DMSA.
I have read differing things about the accuracy of urine testing with DMSA. Critics say that it is not legitimate since the DMSA are forcing the metals out, giving a falsely elevated result. I don't know what to think. ![]() |

Even the hair analysis for heavy metals can be misleading. Maybe you need to look at multiple types of test results and see what's common in each. I assume you had blood tests also to check for heavy metals.
Regarding DMSA challenge....Pretty much everyone would have an elevation of some heavy metals since the DMSA is actively pulling out the metals. John did the challenge and the mercury came out as OK and then the doctor told us that it takes a few chelation session before you see the mercury levels rise in the urine. Found the process so frustrating and inconclusive. So I pretty much think there is no clean way to truly assess the heavy metal burden with urine, hair and blood. We all have a heavy metal burden impacting our health on some level and it's not always the quantity that's important; It's more about which organ is most impacted by even a tiny amount. |
