I just wondered if there was a particular test for specifically diagnosing small fiber neuropathy. My orthopedic surgeon ordered a nerve conduction study on me after initially treating me for plantar fasciitis. I began developing additional symptoms that have turned out to be neuropathy. The test report reads...chronic sensorimotor peripheral neuropathy. My family doctor started me on Lyrica while I wait on my appt. in June with the Neurologist. Each day the tingling, numb feeling seems to travel to different areas. For the past few days, I experienced it on my face!
I do think I will start taking B12 as suggested by Numbfoot, couldn't hurt. |

what did the conclusion of the nerve conduction study show? Small fiber neuropathy can be tested by skin biopsy usually taken from three areas which actually counts the number of small nerve fibers in a specific area, quantitative sudomotor axon relex test( QSART), sweat test and tilt table test.
