I have sciatica from lumbar disc pressure with terrific pain down my right leg and feet. Pain killers don't help. My doc is talking about an operation but I'd rather not. My cousin who suffers for years from diabetes with nerve pain told me she is taking Neurofencine with wonderful results. She says I should try it. This supplement contains g-agmatine. Does anybody have more information? I am desperate for a solution!

This product is a derivative of l-arginine. (amino acid)
I think this is the study they refer to for "spinal pain relief" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20447305 This is what the website says: http://www.fornervehealth.com/Resear...L_NERVE_HEALTH There are many pages of studies on PubMed on this metabolite of arginine. But I could only find one human study on pain. This product is being "re-launched" meaning it has been around for a while and now is being promoted again. It appears to be quite expensive...at about $60 a month for the higher dose use. So if you decide to try it, please let us know what you discover. So far the website is using a graphic based on the experiments on bacteria and animals to promote use in humans. So IMO it is uncharted territory so far.

Have you seen a pain management doctor? They can sometimes offer other treatments/procedures then meds and surgery.

In my experience with the pain mgmnt center at Hopkins, they are in the dept of anesthesiology and initially run a gamut of pain meds before considering any alternative recommendations or referrals to others. They are pill pushers.

irisdalig, how long ago did this pain start and how was it diagnosed? The natural course of acute disc pain is that it subsides in 80-90% of folks within 6 months. If meds don't help, then an epidural steroid injection can be helpful for pain relief. If this is a more chronic condition, then a new approach would be warranted

Thank you all for the input. Fabdou, I had my condition for about two months when it was diagnosed by CT. I have it now for about 4 months. I want to let you know that I started yesterday to take Neurofencine (I spoke on the phone with the guys who discovered the effects and they sound serious scientists, and I got it online from their website). I am still in pain. Will keep you all posted...
