I've never noticed any swelling in my feet. Are you talking about visibly noticable swelling or swelling on a smaller level in the nerves?

Well for me it is finding the right balance between not doing too much and not doing too little. I remember my doctor saying that if I don't use my limbs that I will atrophy and that will cause even more problems. Have you tried pool therapy?

I think attention to shoes is critical ....

Also tying shoelaces too tight... AVOID AVOID.

If you have Tinel's sign on your top instep, watch anything that hits those nerves.

Anyone with foot pain, really needs to see a podiatrist to rule out other sources or problems. I have multiple foot problems and find understanding them, helps in finding comfortable solutions.

I find that shoes with Velcro straps provide good ability
to loosen or tighten many different times of the day, even
when driving longer distances. Very easy to adjust.

Some days, I feel like I could hike for miles... other days, 1-2 aisles in the grocery store and I'm done... and the biggest problem is not figuring out what I do to make it worse 1 day to the next...

Geeze Ed, I was thinking of starting a thread called "how do you feel in the morning?". I am finding some days I am doing great, sleeping well, not tired, balancing well and then the next day....I can barely get out of bed, no less put on braces and walk to the next room with the cane.

I will say that this last month I have had an increase in better days, possibly because of the physical therapy. Still, I have some rotten mornings.
