We had a snafu... our older cat seemed ill on Fri so we took her to the vet. He found a growth on her thyroid! Her left eye was watering too. So I worried about her teeth, or an infection. Which were thankfully not the case. The Vet said the watering eye goes with the nodule on the thyroid in cats, which may cause lacrimation.

So we got the test results back on Sat afternoon, and they were NORMAL... so we don't have to take medications with us yet for her. When we get back I'll take her for another opinion at a more comprehensive vet...where we take Weez. Her other results were normal too...so I am relieved!
I guess the heat is just getting to her...lots of her fur has fallen out and she looks thin and gaunt.

She had porked up over winter... doing what I call revenge eating when we got the kitten in January. Now she has lost that weight and maybe a bit more besides?

So the weather looks clear, and we are almost done packing. Today we will load up the cars...not an easy or fun task.

I hope everyone here has a nice August. Maybe the major heat is over ...I hope for everyone's sakes!;)

Have a safe and happy trip. I am glad the results for your cat came back normal. I hope the whole family has a wonderful time away.

brief check in

I haven't much battery time left and will only be brief here..

We are finally settled in...lots of challenges, but the weather is fine and despite a sick cat, things are a bit better.

I am taking the Theanine I ordered and really like it. So far 150mg at bedtime.

I'll try to log on later in the week longer, and respond to posts, etc.

I am saddened to learn about Karen's passing too.
