I have P/N up to my ankles with numbness and burning. This I can control somewhat with lyrica 150g and 150-200 tramadol.
However its the random joint pain which is the biggest problem. The burning doesnt stop me walking but the joint pain does. The pain can hit anytime in the knees or ankle but never in both feet together ![]() I used to get a lot of gout but have drastically modified the diet which is all fruit and vege with some beef or fish in the evenings so dont think its gout but could be wrong. What has helped in the past is predisnone. This last 7 days I have had severe lower back pain ,rapid onset but cleared in 4 days . Followed by knee pain with some light swelling but may have done that in the gym, its gone now. Currently ankle pain no swelling. What should I be doing to stop or at least control the pain in theses attacks? celebrex? |

You can get gout from legumes. Purines are in most foods, and I believe legumes (peas peanuts and soy) are moderate sources.
Here is a table: http://www.acumedico.com/purine.htm Notice theobromine? That is in tea and chocolate/cocoa. I have read that food is not the only contributor. When white cells are destroyed in the body they release purines too. Some people get gout attacks when getting over an infectious illness. Or trauma where tissue is damaged. These are the people who have metabolic problems with purine metabolism. more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gout

Thanks for the list. Was surprised to see sardines in oil at the top of the list ESPECIALLY since I bought 10 cans on special last night
![]() surprised tomatoes were at the bottom. Will just continue with my diet and follow the list as well and see how we go down the track ![]() |
