Default 600 mg 3 times a day?

Neuro Doc at UCLA wants to start me on 600mg 3 times a day Alpha Lipoic acid this seems high, I suffer from heart palps and I don't want that to get worse, my numbness and tingling is so bad I even feel it in my eyes, can this get better? It's hard to believe it can with all of this, anyway MrsD does the above dosage seem ok to you? I value your opinion. Thanks, Jan

Lightbulb

That is typical for alpha lipoic acid. ALA is the old version of lipoic acid. It is composed of a mixture of active R- form and an
inactive form. So only about 1/2 of it is active.

Taking R-lipoic is more potent and you may be able to use only 100mg of that instead. Buy the stabilized form.
We discuss this here, with links to read:

It is your choice...
ALA may lower blood sugar in some patients. It has been used for over a decade for neuropathies with success.
