Default For Mrs. D. What do you think of this product?

http://www.themiraclemineralsupplement.com/

I just heard of this. I read all the info. I know what it is. And of course the FDA won't sanction it. It's NOT a drug and they want us to buy drugs, don't they?

So I'd love to hear your take on this. I would only consider it for Alan's psoriasis because so far, nothing really gets rid if it and if this stuff (used carefully) would do the trick, I'd spend the $20.00

Thanks for your input

Melody
P.S. Sorry to put it on this thread but I didn't know where else to put this question. Thanks much

Shocked

That guy, is the biggest scam ever! Don't even consider it.

Just Google "Jim Humble fraud"

You will find this exchange between Humble and others interesting:

The FDA has forbidden him from advertising "cures". It is right on that website link you provided.

I knew how this was going to pan out before getting past the URL in the first line of Melody's post. Any time I see "Miracle" used to tout anything (especially any kind of supplement), the bells go off, the heckles go up, and I move right along.... Snake Oil.

I did find it interesting because it reminded me of the early days of Usenet (or rather ARPANET) when things consisted of true articles being posted by scientists, academians, & students, followed by critical discussion/debate. Things began to change when non-academics got involved, and criticisms and rebuttals took the tone of those of HealthWyze - resorting to ridicule, personal attacks and strawman arguments.

It doesn't change my opinion/recognition of snake oil when I see it (is it any surprise to anyone that I tend to be a skeptic anyway?) but it was disappointing that they couldn't have kept their side/position a bit more elevated.

At one point, they provided 2 links to illustrate the deaths caused by the substance in question, but upon reading those links, I found they were both referring to the same single incident, and admitted that that was the only known documented death. (shrug).

A similar observation was made about the "exploding baking dishes" that many of those reports could/may have been duplications of the same incidents ("My dish exploded", "My friend's dish exploded", "My sister's dish exploded", "My daughter's dish exploded" "My neighbor's dish exploded", etc. could have all been referring to the same incident, but there being no way to determine that, it would appear they were separate and distinct incidents.)

While these kinds of things don't do anything to support/strengthen the claims of the product/person under scrutiny, they do weaken the case(s) of the critics. IMO, they were as circumventious (is that a word?) as the snake oil salesman.

Ah, the good old days...

Tongue

I have been following the "Humble" travesty for over 2 yrs or more. His website has undergone many transformations.

At one point he was hiding out in foreign countries to elude
the FDA.

The last time I saw his website he had photos of how to encapsulate the swimming pool chemicals into capsules, to then swallow them, instead of the liquid he initially hawked.

These photos were horrible...poor technique and encouraging people to make their own! It was totally snake oil... but for those here who don't have access to that history, you'd never know how stupid the whole process and idea appeared then!

Suffice it to say, he arouses emotions in some people, and those do leak out as sarcasm. I am just amazed he has lasted this long.(and he is laughing all the way to the bank).
