Hi all. Since I first posted here some time ago I have received confirmation of axonal motor and sensory damage to the nerves in both feet. I am currently awaiting the results of an extensive blood work profile that I will not get until 12/20.
In the meantime - outside of the vitamin therapy(s), massage, soaking and what have you - does anyone have any first hand experience with an intensive acupunture program and if so did you see any results? Also - anyone have any experience with surgery for multiple nerve decompression(s) to relieve neuropathic pain? Anything to that or just quackery? Any other radical treatments ou there to consider? Thanks all and may you have some relief from your pain today no matter how small. |

We have not seen many people here with success from the nerve decompression surgeries of the feet (Dellon procedure.)
Tarsal tunnel may not respond to either tendon decompression or the Dellon technique. This is one example of the Dellon subject: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ghlight=Dellon Using our search function will bring up 11 other threads. The feet tend to make scar tissue, and that furthers more compression. I had a surgery on my left instep 50 yrs ago for a tumor. It gives me grief all the time. They told me then to never touch it again. Too much damage (it was a daily bleeding hemangioma with deep roots). It was done by special plastic surgeons at a huge teaching hospital, not a podiatrist. It is not clear what type of surgery you have been offered by your post. So I am only referring to foot surgery in my answer.

Hey Colt I've had Decompression surgery one month ago left leg ,ankle ,and foot. So far I have more feeling in sole of foot but instead of tickling when finger nail ran over it I feel intense pain, have been told may take up to a year to get somewhat regular feeling back. was told where I got it done had 200 before me only two showed no improvment. they are going to do the right one when left one heals enough ankle insision healing slowly. good luck hope this helps Rich
