Can the burning in the feet/legs just seem to get better or go away? I'm not having near the pain i was a few months ago and I was just diagnosed this summer. I've been doing water areobics and water jogging classes at our gym , then the last 2 weeks i've been on otc cold/cough meds and the last week or so i can sit for long periods of time with no burn where a month ago I could not stand to sit for long at all . So now i'm really confused about this disease and then wonder if i got the right diagnosis to start with and could it have been sciatic nerve after all ? If anyone can help I'd certainly love some insight . I know I've read where folks have it get better and come back but I thought that was after having if for years . Looking forward to some ideas on this . Thanks so much . Elizabeth

Yes, it can get better, or relapse.
When I was at my worst, it was over 30 yrs ago! (low thyroid). It is much better now than then, but now I have insulin resistance and that affects it too. My carpal tunnel is better, too, unless I use my hands too much. Didn't need the release surgery after all. (lately I am working on a small sewing project, and that set me back a bit.. have to wear my wrist brace at night for a while again). The sciatic nerve qualifies as a sort of neuropathy too. Fix that and you will get better. Sometimes it heals up. I've had one attack of sciatica on the left, when I worked midnights over a decade ago. It healed up finally and is gone for now. If you have sciatica try to avoid high stools for sitting. I think that is how I got mine-- from a stool at work. Many people have these high chairs/stools at their kitchen islands... and I think perching on them is hard on the sciatic nerve.
