Hi
My blood results all showed normal. Except haemoglobin, which is borderline low as usual. Getting a blood test to see if l am the Thalassemia. Even if l do there is nothing that can be done about it anyway. But these are my B12 results: 510 pmol/L B1 results: 65 ug/L serum magnesium: 1.0 mmol/L Glucose:4.9 mmol/L zinc: 13 umol/L Do you think l need to take in my Vitamin B1 or B12? Thanks Sue ![]() |

It would help if you posted the ranges for these results with them, as most of us are in the US and ours are different.

There is nothing glaringly obvious with your test results.
But that suggests that your PN is not metabolic. It does not rule out other causes. This is just one step down the path to find your trigger.

Metabolic meaning, PN not caused by nutrient deficiency? What causes does metabolic rule out?
Thanks sue |

Vitamins enable metabolism of glucose and food. Carbohydrates mostly. They are cofactors in many enzymes.
Dr. Snow MD in post 70 of the B12 thread states his opinion that some people need MORE of B12 than others, so he recommends if neurological symptoms are present with adequate B12 to take it anyway to see if there is improvement. That would be your choice to make after reading his paper.
