That is exactly where I am now....I dont know what exactly I am looking for:winky:

I am seeing an endocrinologist for my thyroid, I might as well discuss with him my concerns. I am not very enthusiastic about estrogen replacement therapy due to its side efffects.

Thank you Doc!

But it may also depend on what hormones you're looking at and for what reason(s). Men routinely work with their PCPs with regard to testosterone replacement, and women work with their gynos for estrogen replacement.

But for widescale screening, especially if I didn't know what I was looking for, I'd do some homework and either follow where that lead me or at least start with an endocrinologist. Asking your PCP who to see about what isn't a bad idea either.

Yup, I'm still taking the hormones I mentioned; it's only been 3 days since that post. :)

Estrogen alone is not good. My first clueless GYN did that. My migraines were almost daily. It was awful in many ways, for my body.

The key is balance AND the hormones the body recognizes, not the old kinds that caused problems. Estrogen, Testosterone, Progesterone, Pregnenolone, DHEA should all be tested and balanced and it is WONDERFUL when they are.:D Thank goodness I found a good doctor and compounding pharmacists.

Sounds like a plan. The endo should have an idea; there are certain basic hormones and markers they look for in preliminary screenings, which in turn suggest others they may want to look at. I've gone through this a couple times; one battery of tests that prompted a second follow-up battery to zero in on a problem, if there is one.

I continue to get so much better. PN is just barely there.

Autonomic Neuropathy (Dysautonomia/POTS) is improving daily. We just gone home from another trip. We are buying land and building. Just 6 months ago this would have been a nightmare with walking etc. since the blood would not stay in my head and heart..feeling like I would faint at all times. I have a long way to go with the POTS but it is night and day! I can handle the car trips and the stress of deciding on things for the new house, builder etc, so much better. This is all nice for my hubby. I can do so much more now! :D

We are both very happy as well as my parents and family, very scray for a few years.
