I tried this this drug on Thursday and had seizures clear into Wednesday. They were so intense I could feel electricity I swear. It.wasn't something I've ever experienced before and I wish this on no one. All they at the ER was give me ativan and wait til I was stabilized then discharged. Please be careful from what I was told tramadol causes seizures as well as well seretonin syndrome.

Most of the seizure risk and serotonin syndrome occur at high doses or when mixed with other drugs.
Are you taking other medications?

I was on neurontin many years ago, never got up to the max amount. I simply couldn't stand the brain fog. It was awful. Fast forward a few years, new aches and pains. Tried Tramadol. Oh yeah, it worked. Great actually. Zero pain!!! Miracle drug? not for me, it works like speed. I couldn't sleep. At the time I was a school bus driver and needed to be alert at all times. I still won't use it, DH uses it on road trips to stay awake too.
I use BioFreeze on my feet, good stuff. Flexeril and Vicoden the rest of the time. If needed

Medications effect different people differently. We've seen that in just this thread; responses to tramadol have ranged from drowsiness to nothing to stimulant. The same goes for gabapentin and any combinations - medication interactions.
Most meds that have the known propensity warn patients on the prescription label not to drive/operate machinery (at least at first) while taking them. After a time (also different for everyone) as the system gets used to the medication, tolerance develops. Some longterm chronic pain patients on high doses of opioids have no impairment while driving, while others taking miniscule doses for a short time may be loopy. No hard/fast rules here. ![]() Doc
