Default Possible symptoms of neuropathy?

Well, I'm 18 and currently have Crohns which is under control with Remicade, but for the past month I've been experiencing tingling in my head, burning sensations, swaying sometimes when standing, and the sensation of muscle tightness in my upper chest, neck pain, and a internal vibration sensation and my fingers tremor when pointed. I also have this very weird sensation where it feels like cold water is in the back of my head and back. All these symptoms come and go and are usually worse at night. I really hope I don't have MS or some other VERY serious disease.

I cant really say anything to help but I just wanted to encourage you to keep trying to figure it out with doctors help and your own research. The path to recovery, health and discovery is often long and difficult, Im traveling down that road myself.

Maybe someone with more knowledge will come along with some advice.

Hi.
I don't know what's behind all your symptoms; obviously, something's amiss, and when doctors can't find a ready cause, they just treat symptoms. Testing should reveal if there's anything to see, like lesions, etc. If nothing shows up, and your doctors call it idiopathic, it's probably dietary or environmental. A good guess would be sensitivity to wheat gluten, which affects almost everyone to a greater or lesser degree. The good news is that it's something you can do something about. There is an abundance of excellent advice within this site.

I recommend the book, "Wheat Belly," by William Davis, available at Amazon for about $15. It may help clear things up for you; at the least, it should help some of the symptoms.

I'm scheduled for another appointment this Friday with my doctor, the first time I went(two weeks ago) he gave me this lame excuse that one of the medicines was causing it and to stop taking it(Atenolol) checked my neck(lymph nodes...I suppose?) and sent me off, I don't think I was in there more than five minutes.

Anyway, I'll update this thread Friday.

Okay, I actually got an appointment today with my doc, and he prescribed me a medicine called "Primidone" to help with my tremors. I asked him what did he think of my paresthesia and he blew me off saying "I really don't know" then, I asked if the medication would help with it and he said "It might" I really don't know what to do. It seems as if he doesn't consider it serious.

Listen, the best advise I can give you is to take charge of your own health, and if you are not getting the answers you need from your doctor, FIRE HIM.

It's a valuable lesson I learned and now I am in charge of my health, and the dr works for me. If he/she does not like that I am "too involved" or "self diagnosing" then tough crap and I move on the the next doctor.

It's the be lesson I ever learned.

I allowed a dr to hurt and humiliate me a couple years ago when I asked for a different blood pressure medication than the trial and error one he gave me that was brand new and he was probably getting kick backs from for prescribing such a new drug. When I said I didn't want to take it, his nurse called me and said "the dr suggests you find another dr that is better suited to your self diagnosis needs".

I was humiliated, hurt, and confused. I thought I had done something wrong. I will NEVER allow another dr the power like that over me.

Now, several years later, Im taking that lesson with me as I go through this thyroid and neuropothy ordeal, and I have already FIRED the first doctor, and I searched long and hard for the next one and prayed on my way to see him and so far, so good.

Sorry, I am getting carried away with this, but I am passionate about this. Nobody cares about me as much as I DO. Therefore, I will do the research, ask the questions and demand to be heard and I will fire any doctor that does not meet my needs.

So, if your dr aint workin, move on to the next one. Very few doctors know much about neuropathy . On my last dr appointment my dr was shocked and amazed at my level of knowledge, which was probably more than him on B12 and desicated thyroid hormone. Thankfully he didnt have an ego that prevented him from hearing me.

good luck

I tested positive for arsenic poisoning the day after having Chinese food (at a restaurant). The doctor said that was actually pretty common. You might want to look into heavy metal chelation (Dmsa, or iv or suppository EDTA) if stuff like diabetes can be ruled out.

Between then and now, get on some good nerve repairing vitamins, natural vitamin E and acetyl l carnitine are good ones to start with.
