Might be a good idea to get checked for diabetes/pre-diabetes (5-hr. glucose tolerance test). Swings in blood sugar levels can cause dizziness in some folks, as well as bring on PN.
Thyroid? Doc

Thanks - I've had blood tests already - I think I was checked for diabetes & thyroid already but I'll double check at my appointment next week.

Well - headaches gone this morning but one of my arms feels a bit strange. I went to scratch my nose and ended up poking my eye instead - took 3 attempts to touch my nose, what's that all about then? Is that a symptom of neuropathy or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Small fiber autonomic or sensory neuropathy can effect the cranial nerves and cause problems with dizziness or vertigo by disrupting the signals from the inner ear.
I have small fiber from sarcoidosis that started in 2002. but i can never get my primary care doctor to understand. she blames everything on fibromyalgia and diabetes(the diabetes started in 2010 long after the small fiber neuropathy that started with the sarcoidosis in 2002) Some doctors are just morons. |

Just been to dr - he thinks I've got labrinthitis again - I've had it a couple of times over the last few years. Once again - on examination I appear to be perfectly normal, in fact I feel almost normal - until I stand up and attempt to walk anywhere - then I just feel drunk.
Is there any link between this and the PN symptoms? I asked the dr but he wasn't sure. This is the third dr I've seen and all they seem to do is shrug their shoulders and say that the neuro will be able to answer all my questions!! Very frustrating - lovely sunny weather - I just wish I felt up to sitting outside ! |
