oh boy now I read that vitamin d2 is made from mold?? I am allergic to mold one of my major seasonal allergies. I just wish I knew why taking that one lousy pill exasperated/intensified my neuropathy.
I am looking at the vitamin d 1/2 bottle left I have taken on and off over the year and it is vitamin d3 and I had no problem taking that 1000iu. I also bought a bottle of calcium600mg that i have not taken or opened. It says with vitamin d and when I look at it it says ergocalcferol. SO maybe I want to stay away from that. |

sorry for all these replies lol. I would think I get a pretty good supply of calcium because I eat alot of yogurt and cheese (yum!),broccolli and even drink milk. The magnesium for me I think would be iffy. I should probably call my doctor who tested me and see exactly what I was tested on.

oh and no my foot looks nothing like those pictures. definately not red and swollen. not lesions. maybe dry heels though.

People are commonly low in magnesium, because the whole foods that provide it are often ignored in our standard American diet.
Calcium functions to contract muscle fibers and magnesium relaxes spasms and contraction. When you have an injury this balance may be further upset by inflammation. That is why magnesium is important. It acts like a muscle relaxer like your cyclobenzaprine. It comes in lotion forms, epsom salts soaks and/or oral forms (avoid OXIDE type which is not absorbed). Also with an injury people tend to walk in new ways, and strain the body, muscles and tendons, while favoring the injured part. These strains are painful, and you may have that factor too. In general tendon injuries take much longer to heal. I pulled my left leg adductor, and it never healed up 100% as a result. My limp is almost gone now after 4 YEARS! The PT I went to said if I had broken my hip I would be back in 6mons or so. Tendons? They take forever, and often heal shorter causing more issues. I went to PT for 3 months...and they released me with only partial functions since I didn't progress past a certain point. So I live now with some limitations.
