I am not an expert on GBS, however I have one family member and one church friend who suffered GBS after receiving the flu vaccine. GBS is rapid onset progressing from the feet to the head. Both of these people ended up in the hospital on ventilators, undergoing platelet washing procedures, and required extensive rehabilitation. They both recovered, but the family member has residual facial paralysis. GBS does not wax and wane, it's sudden, fast, and progressive. I don't recall anyone on this thread having a problem with GBS.

Glad you found this thread, welcome. Your title says Booster Nightmare. Are you a veterinary professional?

Thank you for your reply Batbite. No, I am not a vet. Had a tiny scratch from a feral kitten when on holiday in South Africa, 14/15 years ago. When I saw the nurse on my return, she was advised to give me post exposure treatment as a precaution. I though after all these years it would be wise to get a couple of boosters so went to a travel clinic. The pharmacist said one booster would be sufficient but I decided on 2 as it had been almost 15 years. The literature seems to suggest immunity lasts approx 10 years. He did offer me the third but I don’t intend on having it due to these symptoms. I am incredibly fearful and having all sort of thoughts about the safety of the batch of vaccine I was given 😔 Really regret getting these shots. Didn’t have such long lasting side effects years ago.

I only recall one person on this thread who said he felt he was "over vaccinated" by repeat boosters, and he had some severe symptoms. He never followed up with postings for very long though. The neurologist is probably correct that your symptoms are temporary, although it's anyone's guess how long they may go on. I am indeed, fully recovered, but it took a little over two and a half years, which is exactly the time frame my neurologist gave me.

Tobius, I haven't done much exploration within this site. I've pretty much stayed here with the post rabies topic.

Thanks for your reply Batbite. 2 1/2 years is a long road. I am hoping mine resolve in the next few weeks (which the on-line neurologist said it would). However, judging by what you and others have been through, I fear this might be optimistic. My symptoms are annoying and anxiety inducing rather than debilitating at the moment. The side effects I am getting are listed in the patient leaflet as rare. I have thought of going to GP but fear that I will be dismissed as others on here have been. It is a relief to speak to people who understand.

Now its my left shoulder today there is a little burning sensation and tingling is in my left arm {again} with some pins and needles but the bright side is no anxiety today . Ever since my illness Ive read through this thread like its my second Bible . I post these mini updates for other people like us so I might be here for a long time haha . I think mass killing of street dogs is a good way to halt this problem but then again people left their dogs to be street dogs and Monkeys are walking around in this part of the world too so its a never ending cycle , there are people who would go out at night to sterilize and vaccinate street dogs but with the ever increasing population of street dogs its hard for them to reach each and every dog plus some dogs dont want to make human contact . |

I did not report anything to the FDA. Perhaps I should have, for what good it might have done. Not at all happy with the attempts to mandate vaccine schedules for all here in the States. But that's another hornet's nest altogether, which I'm not going to get involved in on this forum.
