Thanks Batbite. I also read your story.

I think everyone who has gotten these shots should as a precaution get tested for the basics, HIV, Hepatitis and possibly a few others.

I know they sterilize the donor material but the fine print on the brochure is of course scary. I did check for HIV months following the injections. I'm in a monogomous relationship for the past 28 years so no concern there but I think with this new pain issue I might test further. Just to be sure. Not to cause alarm to anyone. I reached out to the CDC and the makers of both vaccines and was assured they are cleaned but like everything in life there is no guarantee.

Default Yup...me too...

Virgin bride, virgin groom, married 47 years no infidelity, no illicit drugs, no blood transfusions. Yet here is this unavoidable risk because rabies is a death sentence if not immediately treated. I've had 3 ER visits in the last year for various reasons, and I think every time they do an ER blood draw they test for communicable disease. I'll have to ask my primary about that when we go in for our regular annual check up this Spring. Just have to continue to live my best life, the only direction is forward.

I think the risks are quite low so I don't want to cause any alarm. I am an over thinker so for me, I always am thinking of possibilities. There are online tests you can order yourself for blood work. I am to embarrassed to ask my MD - I got married in 89 to my soul mate so yeah there has been no infidelity. I may just order the tests if anything was wrong it would show up now in my blood work. They use a chemical that treats the blood. When you think of all the blood transfusions that are happening and the very small percentages who get ill off them I think it's the same concept. I have never received any blood or human biproducts in my life up until the shot. On the flip side had I not gotten the shot I would have counted down the next two years to see if I developed rabies. At least with the other diseases they are treatable. Rabies is the ultimate and most agonizing death sentence there is.

Hi Batbite, I hope I'm doing this correctly and you see this....I have read all your posts and am sorry to hear of your ordeal. My experience resembles a lot of the physical symptoms you had post vaccine. Mine was a very friendly stray kitty scratch and possible bite in October 2019. All through the shots, I had mild muscle aches and light headedness. This was on their 'mild side effects' that the vaccine could cause. No worries until 10 days post vaccine, the side effects didn't resolve. . Was told by the Health dept. side effects should have resolved....Well as you already know, this set the stage for pure panic/anxiety. Symptoms progressed to Muscle aches arms/legs, Sharp knife like nerve pains anywhere at anytime all over the body, face and head. Now 3 months post last shot, side effects continue. I have seen a Neuro who did feel there was a post vaccine reaction and to f/u if worsening. Blood work and physical exam were negative. The Anxiety and Depression can make it so much worse. Your posts have given me some hope that I too, given time, will improve. I do have some good days, but still have the dark ones. I will refer back to your posts to keep reminding myself there is hope. So thank you for sharing your story.

Hello, Pryjmak, and welcome. Without what I found on this forum when I was at my worst, the whole Rabies vaccine experience would have been so much worse. For whatever good it may do, it is my privilege to stay connected and "pay it forward." Even the medical "experts" are so varied on what they consider to be within the realm of possibility when it comes to vaccine reactions. So many say that any reaction should be over and done within weeks to months. Not so. The damage can take years to repair and heal, and I think for some people the damage may lessen, but never really go away completely. The human body is truly miraculous, and programmed to not only survive, but thrive. Do what you can to give your body the building materials it needs; good clean food and water, rest and exercise in proper balance, feed your mind and spirit good clean positive thoughts and energy. Be patient and kind with yourself.

Default Rabies vaccine

Hello everyone, I am experiencing some pretty scary symptoms that have taken over my entire life!! I received the 1st does on March 6 and two hours later I had numbness and tingling in my right fingers with pain in my right arm. This progressed to include pain in right leg and numbness and tingling. This later for about 7 hours, after those symptoms went away my left thigh became very weak and felt like it was extremely heavy this lasted all night. The next morning I woke up and had this tingling sensation on my right shoulder that went up into my jaw and finally I started to get a headache that felt like a vice grip around my head. I went to the hospital and they did a MS workup and found nothing. Didn’t know it could be due to the vaccine at the time. This all started because my daughter had two bite marks and we found a bat in the garage. Because of this prior to getting the shots I had two panic attacks one I had numbness and tingling in my legs . The second one I thought I was going to die from rabies because my right arm felt like a blood pressure cuff on it and that lasted off and on for 5 days and this was before I the vaccine. I don’t remember having any animal bites. My mother’s cat did scratch me back in October but she has her vaccinations and is an indoor cat.

Ever since then I get these symptoms that come and go, the numbness and tingling the muscle pain and weakness, General feeling of being unwell and on and off headaches that really aren’t so bad. It’s now starting to turn into small muscle spasms here and there along with my jerking when I fall asleep. I have had really bad insomnia the past couple days and my anxiety is through the roof! Also my throat feels like it tightening or sometimes it feels like something is stuck in it. I have one shot to go and I don’t know if I can do it! The throat thing is scaring me the most!!!

By all means! Let your Dr. know about the tightening in the throat! It could be an allergic reaction to the vaccine. You still need to complete the series, but ask about taking antihistamines before the final injection. I have severe allergies and the only way I could finish the rabies series was to take Atarax 40 minutes before receiving the last two shots. Other than that, hang in there and hope for the best. How is your daughter doing?

I will! These symptoms are really scary, especially at night! My anxiety still comes and goes and I’m wondering will it ever go away. I won’t say I have difficulty swallowing but it does feel different when I try to swallow like my jaw feels tight and my throat has a full sensation. My daughter is doing okay she only complains of bubbles in her throat, and feeling tired. After yesterday I just keep wondering if this will get any better or if it’s going to get worse. I almost went into the ER because the anxiety was overwhelming and my chest started hurting really bad.

Hi Cchines, Batbite has been a great comfort to me after reading her story and how far she has come. I am so sorry you have been dealing with adverse side effects from the vaccine. I have posted my story a few weeks back. Now 4 months post last shot, I still have muscle aches, neuropathic pains from head to toe. Ongoing diarrhea. The anxiety has calmed down a bit.

But I too have THROAT ISSUES since 12/2019. Throat feels swollen/dryish and overall just bothersome. Started with a dry cough and seen by PCP who simply said it was a virus, to f/u only if I developed a fever...which I never did. To make it worse, the anxiety medications I was put on have listed side effect of (dry mouth) and these made my throat 10 x worse. I now have to control anxiety without meds.

I checked online concerning throat and anxiety can cause muscles to tense and this can cause the feeling of throat thickening. I plan on going to a doctor once the Covid-19 is no longer a threat. If you are on anxiety medications, this may be making the throat worse.

I use throat lozenges and biotene spray to keep throat moist, along with lots of water, ice chips also help. Theraworx is like magic to control muscle aches. If you follow up with a doctor on the throat, please keep us posted on the outcome. I have noticed improvement in my side effects and keeping a positive attitude has helped a great deal. Keep the Faith.

It’s been almost 2 weeks since my last shot and my throat goes dry off and on, it also feels like there something stuck in it. So I feel your pain. The worst of it is gone helpfully. I haven’t had a bad flare in a week now, just a little weakness and some muscle pain now and then. Looks like the worst is over. The anxiety has decreased severely too!! Thank goodness for this forum and everyone’s experience, it has truly got me through. I’ll keep checking on this site weekly just to keep everyone updated and to give others comfort if they find themselves in the same situation. Thanks everyone!!
