3 weeks in
 

Well I bit the bullet and returned completing three weeks 2 treatments a week). I'm very skeptical but the Dr. said all my sensations are normal and good. this last ime the injections were more painful. Of course he said that's because sensitivity is returning. (we'll see) As far as I can tell by research, possible infection is the biggest risk. The doc say's he goes overboard disinfecting the injection sites. No one here has chimed in so I assume no one here has done this. It's a committment and time consuming.

Review week
 

Well I am into the 4th week and after Friday we evaluate weather to continue. I'm used to it now so the treatments don't bother me as much. Yesterday things flipped. Every other time my left better foot would become warm and totally numb after tx. The right would not go so numb and would be clammy and cool. Yesterday it flipped and it was the right foot that was warm and numb. The doctor had said he wanted to see the right do what the left was doing but not sure why the switch. Still don't see any big change in condition though yet.

End of 4th week
 

During wednesdays tx. about half way though I leaned back to close my eyes when I was shocked in both ankles with a jolt of electicity. WOOO! When the tx ended this time both feet were pretty much equal. Meaning one was not number than the other, infact both were marginally numb and clamy. The doctor is still positive and reads all this as good stuff. Hmm me the doubter. I will continue on for awhile as long as insurance is paying. I still think of snake oil.

4 treatments left
 

Well I'm not sure what to say. My feet are still numb but I have not experienced any neuropathy/pain or burning through this. The injections are beginning to hurt alot and the doctor says I didn't even flinch in the beginning so he thinks some feeling has returned. I do notice that all my oversized shoes suddenly feel too big and I have worn closed shoes more in the colder weather and actually feel the need for some structure. I have had some itching wich could be a good sign. My doctor still feels that I should get orthotics or at least running shoes from Fleet Feet, but I am not ready to pay $500.00 out of pocket for something and then find myself back in flip flops. My insurrance co payments are going way up so sadly things like this and chiropractic care will have to end. I have had extra flex money for this so it has been worth it. The doctor told me he would wave the orthotic adjustment co pays if I go that way. Friday they wrapped both feet to mimic orthotics. I went on a grueling 6 mile hike in the rain on Sunday over slush and snow and rocky hills. It was too much. I was in horrible pain in my feet, back and knees on the way back(3 or 4 miles needs to be my limit). Maybe 2 or 3. However though my back is still messed up my feet bounced right back. The nurse told me that many people notice improvement a few weeks after the treatment is over. One thing though, is that after the numbing treatments wear off I am so thankful for what I have.:)

The end of treatment
 

Well I wish I had better news, but inspite of my doctor thinking good things are happening, I don't see it. I am planning to cancel my last treatment tomorrow, but I will go in to speak with the doc. My last one was on Wednesday of last week and my feet feel worse than they were previously. They are more numb and a bit sore. Now through this I have had different sensations and they eventually at least go back to where they were. Right now I just want them to go back to that place. It could have something to do with the berimetric pressure. I have experienced changes before. I know the doctor thinks orthotics will help but I really don't see how. He's about ready to do them for free, that's how much he believes in that. I would not be opposed if it helps, but I really have to have cusion under the ball of my feet. I've also messed up my diet lately eating a lot of sweets and carbs. Insurrance co payments are going up so I really want to cut my doctors visits way down. I will probably add a couple more entries here as I see what happens.

It may be that many types of nerve malfunction exist that we don't know enough about. Perhaps your feet will calm down after a short while.

Thanks for bringing your experience here. Every one of us has unique things that work and do not. People need to know that keeping an open mind may reveal something helpful eventually.

Obviously it must work for some conditions or insurrance would not cover it. They told me that another patient who could barely walk is functioning much better.

In closing
 

As far as I can tell my feet seem to be a bit number than before. It may be a natural progression or an effect of the cold Winter. They do seem to change when it is warmer. I have had to wear closed shoes and socks right now and I seem to be tollerating it better this winter. Could I just be used to it? I recieved orthotics the other day and I also have been able to tolerate those so far. As long as I wear soft souls unerneath them. I still have minimal burning and pain so I am greatful for that. I can not see that the treatments I recieved have brought any improvement.

When I went in for my orthotics, there were signs up everywhere for new non invasive laser treatments. If he wants to try them and not charge me I may let him. LOL! My cousin told me today that she had two tx so far and her pain has gone and she has feeling in her heel again.

So lets change the subject to laser treaments. Has anyone had any success.
