I have like many of your idiopathic SFN.
I have found Gralise to work well for me. Gabapentin causes severe constipation but Gralise does not. Unfortunately, since Jan 1. my company insurance formulary no longer covers it, but it looks like Horizant might. Gralise is listed as just Gabapentin ER, whereas Horizant is listed as Gabapentin Enacarbil ER. I don't know what that means exactly. What seems to be the difference between these two drugs? Can anyone tell me if it worked? Has anyone tried both? Thanks. |

Yes I did try the Horizant using samples from my Doc. Wish I had better news, but unfortunately it did not work for me like Gralise does.

My pain Dr had discount cards for Gralise when I first tried it. It still cost me money that wasn't an out of pocket expense for insurance purposes. Not sure if it would help but here is a link.
http://www.gralise.com/patient/resources It took at least a year to get my health insurance to cover it. Sadly its probably up to your Dr fighting the insurance company to get them to approve it. Good Luck
