How does one get a doctor to test for B12 deficiency (MMA Test) when with all of the symptoms I am having...........they think it is mental illness? I have ask for the test from 2 doctors and they each say..........have your other doctor test for this. Symptoms are burning feet & hands, pain, numbness and tingling in arms hands legs feet, feet and hands feel like having socks on with pain numb tingling, foggy, memory loss, gait disturbance at times and more. Thank you.

I did the test on my own at anytime labs. Cheaper and I get the results myself.

I do all my blood work on my own, and my dr even lets me. My insurance is only major medical so I have to pay everything myself. Also, when you go to a private lab, the tests and results ARE PRIVATE and not on your record, another plus.

AND CHEAPER.

Hi Stacy,
I couldn't find the Methylmalonic Acid test. I must be doing something wrong. Any guidance advice?

That is their main site, find your location then call them, or call the 800 number on the home page. They have the mma test cuz I did it.
