GBS is fast onset, and accompanies a viral illness or vaccine exposure.

Not always has a rash though.

GBS can also follow from food poisoning from uncooked chicken infected with Campylobacter bacteria.

A neighbor of mine developed GBS following chemo for breast cancer treatment. She had a spring virus, and within days couldn't walk. It did spare her breathing however. She had plasmapharesis treatments to remove the offending immune peptides from her blood.

So if you develop any breathing problems, seek medical attention ASAP.

Okay, so this is unreal. After all of this, the issue has been deteremined. I have hand, foot and mouth virus!! I had not even heard of this until now. It starts with fever, really bad sore throat, headache.. After a few days, a rash forms on the hands and feet and often the mouth (which I didn't get). It just so happens that this formed about 24 hours after being on Clindamycin and then Amoxocillan. I thought maybe it was the antibiotic but with this virus I would have gotten this without them as well.

I got this from a one year old who stayed at my house a few weekends ago. She had small blisters on her hands and feet and I asked the mother if she had eczema and was told no but no mention of this virus. The baby seemed fine as she must have been past it. Adults normally do not get this but I've often been easily affected by virus's. Something with my immune system I guess :/

Soooo, this has been quite a process. The information provided through this board helped me out a lot. I so appreciate the replies and the assistance. Can't believe this one...
