Maybe some of my vultures or birds of prey might eat those hairy spiders...I would have a heart attack if I saw a spider that big, let alone in my bed....I would never sleep again.
I am not fond of bats either. I know they eat insects and all, but a wingspan of a meter...no thanks. Of course, we have ticks. (and I did get Lyme). Where we live now, the ticks are not as bad as further up north. Further up north in the sandy soil, you had to do a tick check every night, and I got used to plucking the wood ticks off me, kids, dogs, etc. Deer ticks that carry Lyme are almost invisible...that is how I got bitten on the back of the leg and didn't see a thing...they are that small! Vultures don't bother any one, they just eat road kill. Sandhill cranes don't come near you...and they give you plenty of warning if you come near them....if you are hapless enough to get into their nesting territory, they literally chase you out...my kids have been chased out of the wetlands behind our old house...they just learned not to go there in spring. I never saw them run that fast before, lol. I love the cranes. I did freak when we had coyotes come right up to the house tho...when we had a litter of puppies they wanted to eat. Oh and we had a bear in my back yard when we lived further north....the police and DNR were tracking him as he proceeded thru the area... we had heavily wooded acreage and he headed for our place....but he just passed thru and went on his merry way. Most animals would rather avoid us, except the ones that want to 'suck our blood'.....small but deadly. |

get any reaction about 2-5 days later [allergic of course], I guess I gotta say I try and stay away from anything that MITE bite, even tho such bites are 'usually' harmless. I for one truly hate giant, red, swelling, seeping welts that steroid ointmets or creams mite or mite not help?
I respect all life, at any level? I try to 'remove' creatures who shouldn't 'be where they are' asap. That or hairspray-a less noxious way to get 'em out than bug sprays...except for any bees... Knockem down, toss them out is my attitude these days - I guess. I guess that's why I have an exterminator contract for? AND I do check out what all they've sprayed around for potential reactions...Overall, a durned if ya do, or not process? To all - ![]() |

http://www.csiro.au/resources/ps1rv.html http://www.geocities.com/brisbane_ho...sCockroach.htm Just added a pic of the typical huntsman spider. I have had many encounters with these guys, especially after rain, they make heir way into my house. Lets also give our roaches some praise as they are flying roaches and can leap at you and genearlly crawl up walls. |
