Default Peripheral Neuropathy and Waldenstroms

Is anyone else on the thread dealing with PN and Waldenstroms? Have you found anything that has brought you relief? Thanks.

Waldenstrom's is a form of excess antibodies (IgM) in the blood, and is a type of lymphoma. There are many different disorders involving having too many peptides (antibodies) in the blood, which then thicken it.

The only "comfort" solutions I can offer are mechanical.

1) stay well hydrated--- this keeps the thickened blood thinner so it can circulate better in tiny vessels in the periphery.

2) eat a moderate low fat diet (esp saturated fats). Studies have shown increased viscosity of the blood after a high fat meal. So keeping high levels down, will help thin the blood somewhat.
Save your fat calories for Omega-3s and olive oil.

3) Avoid sugar and white carbs, as these raise triglycerides, which also make the blood thicken (more viscous).

If your feet and hands have poor circulation, applying the new magnesium lotion: Morton's Epsom lotion....may open up the blood vessels a bit and improve circulation. This new wonderful lotion is available at WalMart now and on Amazon for a very low price. It has no fragrances, and is greaseless and very very good.
I use it every day. Don't waste this on the bottoms of the feet, just do the ankle area and tops (dorsal) parts to get the magnesium into areas that are problematic.

These lifestyle tips may provide you with some improvement in comfort levels.

If you type into our search engine "anti-mag" there are threads that discuss this type of PN.... unfortunately, only the chemo type treatments can change the IgM levels... and those are big severe costly interventions.
