Default Melody, here are some sites that explain...

about BUN tests....I don't know about you, but, try as I mite, I'm not really any more enlightened... Tho Mrs D's suggestion about water is totally practical. Besides a well-hydrated, tho fasted person is easier to 'Stick' for blood tests.

Here goes:
http://health.allrefer.com/health/bun-info.html
http://www.labtestsonline.org/unders...un/glance.html
http://home3.inet.tele.dk/omni/alttest.htm#alkaline

If any of it all makes more sense to you...let me know.

Take care! - j

Thanks hon. You really did your homework. But honestly, with all the molecules, etc. my head can't wrap around that much info.

I'm just happy to get up in the morning, happier still that my feet don't burn or freeze, happy that I can get out of bed, take a little walk sometimes to Dunkin Donuts and have my coffee. Once in a while I do that. Otherwise, Alan and I just have breakfast. Some people don't even get to do that.

And I'm the most happiest when I stick my finger and my blood sugar says 115.

Now that's a happy day!!!!

So to hell with Bun/Ratio's. I'll let my doctor tell me if there's a problem. I really think its the dehydration.

Today I went shopping to a new butcher. You will never believe what I paid for 10 lbs of sliced chicken cutlets, 4 big Bell and Evans chickens, and 3 pounds of ground turkey burgers. $53.00

I mean, really!!!! Where can you get all that protein for $53.00.

Doesn't hurt that my friend's son in law happened to work there. I didn't even know. I walk in and there he was and well, let's just say, I got good service.

So I divided up all the portions. They are in my freezer.

And if I ate steaks and chops (I don't) but YOU HAD TO SEE THE PORK CHOPS THE PORK (AND CHICKEN) SAUSAGE STUFFED WITH BROCCOLI RABE AND THE ROMANIAN TENDERLOIN STEAKS AND RIB STEAKS!!

Thank god I gave up beef 20 years ago. I would have had a ball in this place.

lol, Melody

Shiney sue congrats you must be in heaven. There is nothing like a grandparent/child relationship. Enjoy
Melody its the little pleasure people take for granted well I did in the past like going for coffee with no pain. As for your friend and I tell other people who have tried to help ed suffers that are adults that the best thing people did for me after many attempts to get me well is to just let me know there available if I need support but reminded me that they knew it was me who had to want to recover. Its very hard to get someones right taken away. My roomate at one of my ip stays had that happen though. I fear though time that happened for your friend it may be too late. Really I mean it if I can help or she wants an email buddy she can email me. Also because she may fear asking for help a good support and may help her ask for help is a website that is positive in recovery though many struggle its moderated called something fishy and has treatment referrals. Glad to hear your better and got good buys. I love a bargain.

Daniella:

I sincerely believe that my friend is a lost cause in the anorexia department. She is presently taking an oral chemo drug because she is too weak for the regular chemo.

And she won't go near a computer (even though she has 3 in the basement). The last time she came to my house, I put her on my computer (so she could make a video for her grandkids). She saw what she looked like (when I replayed the video for her) and she said "Oh my god, I look terrible, I'm not sending this to anyone".

So she continues to battle her lung cancer the best way she can. She won't eat. And nothing will make her eat. She say she eats but we know she does not. Nothing we can do. Her family has been going through this since she's 15 and she's almost 60. I figure, she must have one hell of a strong heart to have lasted so long.

I do thank you for thinking of her.

All we can do is pray for each other right??

Melody
