Well...it's driving me crazier than I already am
![]() I know it's part of the SFN but dang....it's like 40 degrees out there and I have sweat running down my neck and face ! And I only walked like 20 feet to take my dog out. I'm guessing there is nothing to take for that ? ![]() Thanks, Debi from Georgia |

Sweating mostly after eating? Or anytime? A form of glucose intolerance that has sweating as a symptom is called gustatory sweating.
Opiates for pain, do cause sweating in some people. This may happen in between doses, when the last dose is wearing off. Some things cause sweating and if you add them all up at one time the sweating can be profuse: Low blood sugar Taking NSAIDs for pain (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc) Excessive caffeine intake Hormone fluctuations (like menopause) taking SSRI antidepressants

It can actually be anytime....I can be sitting in my recliner and notice the back of my head (and what little hair I have...growing back in from chemo) is wet. As of right now my sugar is under control....mainly....never under 120.
Yep..on vicodin......and taking paxil......just never noticed it before my feet started all this mess. Thank u ! Debi |

I forget, what type of cancer was it? Are you taking a hormone suppressor? If so, could be hot flashes. Yeah, just what you wanted to hear. Are you doing rads? Any of this could be messing with your thermostat. I'm on arimadex, for the next 10 years. I hate it, but it's better than the beast. Check with your MO.

It's a rare uterine cancer called Serous.....very aggressive...thankfully mine was very small and contained within the uterus. No hormone stuff.....was told I could not take any going forward.......and what are rads ?
My son bent down and hugged me tonight and he said.....you're sweating....lol.....yep....sure am. Really just my head, neck and face but to the point of running.....running down my neck.....lol....go figure. All this is just so much fun....can't wait for the next symptom to appear.....better check that and knock on wood ![]() Thanks....Debi |

I've been like that recently along with not sweating anywhere else on my body. It seems like the whole body's worth of perspiration has to come out in that limited area. I have SFN, idiopathic at this point. Once sitting in an airplane, sweat was pouring down one side of the back of my neck in a single trickle. So strange!

Hi Debi,
Not sure what type of Rx you had for your uterine cancer. If you had your uterus removed it may be before it was removed your body was making some hormones. After removal production of hormones is gone. Don't know how old you are but that surgery can throw a woman right into menopause. |

If you are not postmenopausal your ovaries will continue to produce estrogen (hormones) after having a hysterectomy. Your ovaries produce them not your uterus.

Because they did not know going in that I had uterine cancer they let me decide if I wanted it all taken out or just the uterus.....the Lord was watching over me when I decided to have it all taken out.....tubes, ovaries everything. I'm very thankful that I did or they would have had to go right back in after the path report came back and taken the rest out.
I went into full menopause last Oct after the hysterectomy. The cancer I had is called Serous......like serious without the i.....of course I had to have a rare type. Just goes along with everything else medical in my life...complicated ![]() And yes....the sweating is just above the neck and and none from my armpits down. So strange but I have read SFN can do that. I noticed how bad it was toward the end of chemo. Of course the chemo had me sleeping NAKED during the winter. Boy was my husband surprised the first time he woke up in the middle of the night and I was naked.....lol.....but you do what you got to do right ? I keep a fan on me except when I sleep....the fan at night drives my husband crazy so I put a 'chillow' in my pillow case. I love that thing....wish I'd have had it during chemo. I open windows, use a cold, wet washcloth....whatever to cool me down. Thanks everybody......just wanted to know if other peeps were sweating weird too.....and they are ![]() Debi from Georgia (sitting here with the window behind me open.....feels great) |
