They are impossibly cute indeed!

As for Patsy's picture: IIRC Mrs. Wide-O was sitting in front of her, no doubt with a treat, while I took the picture. It's always tempting to read something into it - the Germans call it "hineininterpretieren" - but chances are she was just watching the treat, being very much unfazed by the strange apparel she had to wear .

As for the color: this is her in natural light:

Ah, a chocolate lab. The other pic sure looked like a black lab. Beautiful dog no matter what her color. What a beauty!!!
