I am getting a compounding cream with gaba, nortrip, and lidocane, I think. I am waiting for them to call back with price.
If this does work, since it is a cream, will this bypass side effects caused by gaba? Hoping this works for me and helps stop the muscle pain. Though not sure I can afford it either, my insurance probably wont cover it either, but I will do anything to avoid this muscle pain. |

Stacy,
Also look into a formula containing clonidine if possible. Clonidine gel is currently in phase 3 trials with positive results but some of us already use it and we know how well it works. The cost is pretty much the same as the other preparations. PN is intense and cruel and I cannot even put into words how much the compounding cream and CBD have helped me and made my neuro pain much, much more tolerable. |

The first poster is correct that other ingredient can help. I use this and it has done a good job of relieving the PN. ginnie

I think he said klonodine was in it, cant remember, it had a few extra things I didn't know. It cost $90 for almost 4 ounces, no insurance coverage. But if this will help take less pills so I can avoid the side effects of muscle pain from gaba I will pay it gladly.
I hope it has clonodine. |

No side effects. Next script can be tailored if more is needed. Just keep track of what's in it. I looked up the script as well. Medicare didn't cover this either. ginnie

It is not "instant relief" but darn close to it ! Works for me, but then I am stuck in the chair or couch for awhile after applying it. Don't get it on the furniture or carpet, ehhh. Great for those Level 9+ pain episodes. Only thing, I have had 2 cases of "contact dermititus" using it. Really what I did was apply the cream and I had to use a pair of socks/shoes within an hour or 2 and when my feet sweated, my skin broke out. Occlude I belive it is called, don't cover the skin or such too soon after applying it is all. Good luck to you !

Both compounds have enough goodies in it to help. I didn't have any trouble with skin outbreaks. ginnie

I have been on Compounding Cream since December 2013 and it works wonderfully for me. I have reduced my Gabapentine from 1800mg daily to 1200mg daily.
My cream is consist of Gabapentine, Clonidine, Ketamine and Baclofen. Since Ketamine is a controlled substance, I dont use it daily. Mine is covered by my insurance and with a minimal copay. The validity of the compounding cream is short though...it says only for 1 month. But I put it in the refrigerator to extend its shelf life. For someone like me who has been on constant pain for almost 4 years now, this is VERY GOOD!!! |
