Default advice please first timer

Could anyone advice me please.I am worried as since five months ago I have had severe painful pins and needles in my left foot.It has now started to travel up my leg.It is there all the time but unbearable at night and keeping me awake. I have restless leg syndrome but this is digferent, My right foot is normal. Does this sound like neuropathy. ? The only other medical problems I have are coccyx pain treatef with steroid injections and overactive thyroid caused by autoimmune Graves disease.I really cant face my doctor as I am always there for something and he will think not something else! Coulf I treat this myself with amy creams or exercises? Thankyou

Default Hello plpp1ns

Welcome to Neuro Talk. There are many people on this site with PN, myself included. This is the time you should go back to your doctor, even though you see him more than you would like to. That is what the doctor is for. If your doctor does not respond to you, it would be time to find another. It took me several physicians before I found the crew I have now. I do PT every day, acupuncture, vitamins, (B12), Lidoderm pain patches, and a compounded cream with Ketamine in it. All of them combined, has reduced the symptoms to being manageable. These therapies should be investigated, and the PN DX'd by a physician who knows something about this. Don't be afraid to go in and tell him about this. Keep a journal, listing what is happening to you. Also if you bring someone with you to the appointment, the doctor is more likely to listen better, and respond better to you. I think they know you are serious when you have another in the room with you to listen. I do wish you all the best. Help is available for this condition, but you will have to go to the doctor to find that help. ginnie

You need to have your doctor refer you to a Neurologist, if you can get to the root cause right away, you may be able to reverse the neuropathy, it may be a pinched nerve or something like that, since it is just one foot. The quicker that it gets fixed the better.
Good luck!
