Lately I am having these ....twitches, in the nerves in my feet. I think that is the way to explain it. Mostly when relaxing, and I can even see my toes kinda move, and it is not always the same spot, or toe, or foot. Sometimes the toes do not "move" or twitch, just the nerves across the area below my toes, on the top of my foot. It feels so weird, I hate it. I flex to try and stop it.
Could it be the Gabapentin meds causing it? |

I used to have this symptom a few months ago (it has stopped for a while now), on my L foot more so than the R one. Mine was like the muscle around the arch twitching and moving when I lay down (relaxed). Sometimes this twitching occurred rapidly and I could see it happening. My toes would also move from side to side - sometimes rapidly as well. This went on for months. No pain, just annoying. I didn't take any medication, so mine was not caused by the Gabapentin. When I researched this, it is called fasciculation and it is one of the sensory neuropathic symptoms. I hope yours will stop soon as well. Take care, Yu Ping |

I was also wondering if what you are experiencing is fasciculation. Read and see if this sounds like what you've got going on.

Repeated cold that you use on your feet will affect your circulation. Fasics come from poor circulation and also from low blood sugar. Low magnesium too. Anxiety will do it.
Report this new symptom at your next doctor's visit.

Yes, I suppose this is what it is. It feels so awful in the foot. I have had it in my thigh last week, and while annoying, I could live with it, but when it happens in my foot I hate it. It never happened until I started gabba, I think this medication is causing it. |

Keep an eye on your thyroid levels too. I was having terrible muscle twitches for a while, this winter. When my last tests showed high T4... we decided to 1/2 the thyroid... no effect. Still twitching and racing heart at night...so I went off completely...for 3 months, and was retested. Much better. So staying off for 6months and having another retest.
I had a long term twitch in my left lower leg for many months. And now it is gone completely. So I do think elevated thyroid hormone levels may be a culprit too.

Hmm...I had my blood thyroid done about two months ago but knowing I have hashi anti bodies, it is possible things have changes. Thanks for the heads up, Ill consider it.
I did google gaba and it can cause muscle pain/twitch so I have a feeling it is the meds. It did bug me in my thigh but I hate it in the foot. |
