As a long time observer, I thought it was time I told my familiar story. I'm approaching geezerhood at 61, though still hoping to do some traveling, and maybe even establish a relationship. Since PN has enveloped both feet in the last couple of years, those hopes are becoming more unrealistic by the day. With the exception of Doc appointments and an occasional trip to the therapy pool, my days are spent in my recliner or in bed, trying to find a position to mitigate the constant pain of PN.
Seems the best the Neuro Docs can offer is an ointment that's superficial at best, and lasts an hour or two at the most. Hardly an effective treatment for PN. MrsD, I've taken your advice and consumed lots of B12 and B Complex. Seems the most insidious nature of PN is the debilitating depression that more often than not goes hand in hand with PN, and I've got it in spades. Seeing a psychiatrist for anti-depressants, and a talk therapist who's getting tired of listening to me. I spoke to my daughter the other day, and mentioned I was having a pretty hard time with the PN. She suggested I see therapists and such to deal with it, and I told her I had, but they had all shot themselves. A lame joke. Yo beatle, I too am privileged to live in CO, where weed is legal, but I'm having a hard time finding the CBD caps or edibles, and I'm in the Denver/Boulder area! Any guidance would be much appreciated. I'm an old hippie and not opposed to inhaling, but I'd rather go the purer capsule or edible route. Anyway, that's my story, which most of you are quite familiar with. My question is, how do you have a life? Thanks for listening....Kirby |
