Well, in the last few weeks I have begun to suffer a lot more symptoms of PN during the day. Bilateral heel pain that just washed over my feet. At least a dozen times a day. Sometime pretty painful. Most times not. Also a tingling/burning/itching in the sole of my right foot. And a fluttering in the left fifth distal metatarsal of the right foot.
I had been diagnosed with multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) by way of a blood test. I asked for a second opinion and was sent to the University of Washington to see Dr. Leo Wang. A real good doctor. He gave me a thorough neurological exam and said, "You don't have MMN." I had no symptoms, which is assymetrical weakness. This was a great relief tome. I can live with the PN if it doesn't get a whole lot worse. I don't know if it will progress though. There is damage, yes. But will there be more damage, is the question. I am very relieved about not having MMN. |
