I looked at the Amino Energy and would suggest just stopping it. Assuming I was looking at what you are using, the "other ingredients" are not health friendly. Artificial coloring and flavors have no value other than to boost sales of a product.
Regarding the gluten....the low cholesterol, rash, stress issues, etc can all be connected to gluten or wheat intolerance. Life style changes are challenging but not impossible. You may want to look at the Paleo diet for help in transitioning. Clean up the diet for four weeks and see how you feel. Try some body work for the tight muscles in the neck and shoulder. A good massage therapist can help with that. Have you been to the dentist for the bleeding gums to rule out gum disease? Do you take aspirin or NSAIDS on a regular basis? |

Socks do leave marks after wearing them for a while. I've worn ankle socks for many years, and used to wear them day and night while sleeping. I do not wear socks at all at night as of about 2 months ago, but I still wear the ankle socks during the day. I bought some soft diabetic tube socks that go farther up my leg but only have two pair at the moment. Once I can get more I'll wear those most often. I also thought about getting some 'half socks' that only cover the front half of the foot in case my socks were a contributing factor. Not sure if my Hypoglycemia could cause nerve issues or other symptoms I'm having. My doctor has called and left a message but that was a few days ago. I went in to talk to her in person and they just sent me to the St Vincent patient log in so I could see my results online. Every time I call the number back she called from it goes nowhere and says this is not a real line, so it has been difficult to get in touch with the doc about my results. I remember about 20 years ago, the last time I really went to the doctor for anything, you could actually sit for a few minutes and converse to your doc about your problems. I guess things have changed and I'll have to deal with it. I will continue to do protein but if its possible that an amino acid could be causing my problems I can try to find protein without aminos. Today I feel slight buzzing in my fingers and thumb on both hands, hardly noticeable but its there. Same with feet somewhat, and I can feel the blood flow through my feet often. Today I will order some ben B1. I have thiamin here but not sure if it will do me any good plus I already took half serving of a B complex I have. I only do half serving (1 of 2 capsules) because I'm real sensitive to Niacin and a few other things. Too much niacin makes my heart rate go up and stresses me out. |

Marlene had a post here about Niacin and MTHFR errors...let me see if I can find it:
I think this was it: http://mthfr.net/forums/topic/mthfr-...iacin-concern/ You can be heterozygous for it.... meaning neither chromosome has MTHFR, or homozygous for it ..meaning one chromosome has some activity. (these people methylate partially). I'd read up on this if I were you... mthfr.net 10-30% of people have this error. It is pretty common now that we know about it..but it remains as relatively new information. I don't see much of a "rash" in those photos. If it is just flushing...I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. My son had many problems with socks. He is in IT and sits all day. He found some relaxed fit tube socks. But the diabetic ones are nice too (WalMart even sells them quite affordably). It helps to do an extra rinse with your wash for them and your underwear, to get all the soap/detergent that is left behind. This will leach out when you perspire and cause skin irritations. The Whey protein powders are okay to use. Just don't count on them providing any B12.

I mentioned the twitching at night to my doc. She said 'that's not abnormal'. She wasn't concerned about my feet/ankles or other symptoms, such as my neck grinding and crackling inside when I look back and forth. Maybe just from getting older I guess. She asked if I've been under stress and made me fill out a sheet asking a few questions. I hit all the worst scores with stress and anxiety but It was accurate. She prescribed Sertraline (Zoloft) and Hydroxyzine Hydrochloride. So this is my fate. SSRI's, which I have tried so hard to always avoid, and no answers to the physical problems other than, 'your mind may be manifesting these physical problems'. I suppose I'll have to wait and see if the SSRI drugs fix my mental issues and therefore the apparent physical manifestations of that. I"ll continue to research the information in the replies here and also do my own research on the root of the physical problems. If the mind can really manifest such 'quality of life' physical issues then maybe I need an SSRI drug. |

Curious... and maybe I missed it, but what kind of doctor are you seeing?

I kinda had a feeling things would happen this way if I went there but I am not in a position to judge. I preferred seeing a Naturopathic doctor but I don't have insurance and I'm out of a job at the moment. I suppose there is no guarantee they would have any better answers, and I've never seen one before. I've just never trusted traditional doctors for some reason unless I'm literally through my last breaths of life and need chapped or something. I just knew long before I went in that I'd end up coming out with a drug for depression or anxiety. They literally hand these things out like it's candy, and it was even cheaper than candy.. $3 for a month supply of two different drugs, but I will do as the doctor tells me since I am not one myself. |
