Congrats !!
I don't want to hijack a thread, but I've got 7 grandkids
2 girls and 5 boys ranging in age from 18 to 3, and we found out
(in late March) that there's a 8th on the way.
My daughter's 6th!
We dunno (at least I don't, yet) if its a boy or girl, but my
daughter has 4 boys & a girl (8 y.o.), & she desperately
wants a sister.(she loudly exclaims)
Maybe she'll get her wish.

Yeah,........I know.....but........
when they all come over for Thanksgiving or Xmas, or
just for a visit.....by the time they leave (my daughter will
stay and talk,..... and talk, ......and talk..... and....... til 1:00 in the mornin')
I definitely have an Excedrin headache.
All the toddlers running about, screaming and yelling, and the older ones playing video games at top volume, and there's people in every room talking and laughing. Its enough to make a Grinch extremely un-well.
I rather like to visit them - then I can say that I gotta leave
and go home to let the dog out to pee. :) .

Melody--

--be careful; you might have to make muffins around the clock if you adopted them all.

MelodyL 06-14-2007 04:36 PM

Well, since I just made a honey and teriyaki chicken (to die for), what the hell are a few more muffins. You make 4, you make 24. Takes the same amount of oven space and the same 15 minutes.

Gee, just the thought of toddlers, running around and calling me Grandma!!!

I was born for that. Now Alan, that's a whole other ball of wax. He likes quiet!!

I am envious...

I just wish my two daughters would get married !

SeamsLikeStitches 06-14-2007 07:45 PM

Be careful what you wish for!

If they get married, you may get yukky son in laws! I agree with Bob, I like to visit "them" and then go home when I'm ready. Unfortunately my cutie pie 4 year old granddaughter lives with me... and every time I hear her cry I want to run to see what's wrong.
This September is "INDEPENDENCE DAY" for everyone! Our lease is up and we are all going our own ways! But we are all so close we will probably end up in three different apartments in the same complex!

Oh, but son and his wife live in Arizona, we live in California, so we don't get to see them often enough. I'm making a quilt for new baby. It's hand dyed fabric, with little seat turtles and dolphins embroidered on it. Son is making the babies room a "Surfer" theme! He's gonna cut his surfboard in half long ways and mount it on the wall... Cute huh? Grandbabies are Gods way of paying us back for putting up with our kids!

Hey Bob, I used to do that to my Dad too! I loved him so much! You're a lucky dad to have your daughter in your life! But six kids? Is she crazy? Or just a sucker for punishment?

Aaah... Another quilter in our midst... How about posting a picture Terri? I am a quilter, too. A SLOOOOW quilter, but nevertheless, a quilter... :)
