And she's getting too old for this, she's 37. She'll be almost 60 when this new one gets out of college. and she home schools all of her kids (she's got a B.A. in elementary ed.). I've talked to her husband about the BIG "V" (vasectomy- got mine after kid #3 in 1977 - #4 is my step-son, in college now), but he's Catholic (barely- doesn't actively practice) and it seems to go in one ear and out the other. |
Well, you're lucky she's not a mormon in one of those polygamous sects. The man is supposed to have a minimum of 3 wives. and the wives call each other sister-wives and if they only have 5 kids (each wife, I mean), they think it's a disgrace.
And if the husband sees another woman he wants to make his wife, and that other woman happens to be married, well, they can order her to get a divorce, and then the other guy can then take her to be his wife. That's why there is all this inbreeding among the polygamous mormons. Now this has absolutely nothing to do with the Church of Latter Day Saints. They don't practice polygamy. But the ones that do, well, these poor women are petrified to leave this sect. And now they found that the kids share a common gene due to all the inbreeding. It was on the internet yesterday. They even have breeding charts on the walls so they can try and find out who to marry and breed with. When I saw that in a special on tv, I almost choked. It's a really dangerous sect. One guy has 48 kids with various wives. And these kids are each other brothers and sisters, and cousins too. And it's not unusual for a guy to marry both a mother and her daughter (his stepdaughter). These sects really have it all together. They own the police and the doctors so no one talks. They do have people who have escaped and found organizations to help the runaway wives. I might not be a religious person, but all this really sounds sick. So to the woman with 6 kids. God bless you. I hope they are very good to you on Mother's day. You deserve it!!! mel P.S. Can you just imagine a Morman man who gets a vasectomy?? They would run him out of town. |
Whoo hoo!!!
Congrats to all of you! I'm right there with you.
I found out a couple of months ago that I was going to be a grandma for the first time. Found out Thursday, for sure, that it's a girl. She's due to arrive Oct 12. Or there abouts....you know how first babies are. I can't wait. All the fun and none of the responsibility. :p From one grannie to another:  |
Well Bob, I just have to throw my 2 cents in here.:p
I have 5 kids, yet I probably started at a much younger age than your daughter. I was 17 when I married, a month after graduation from high school. I thought I was in love, now I think I wanted away from home, never new what love was. My first son was born when I was 18 1/2 yrs old. Yet, for as long as I could remember, I always wanted to be a mom and I wanted 6 kids. After 3, I decided 3 was enough, yet too late, I was pregnant with my 4th son by then. My celiac disease had kicked in at full force by now and no one knew what was wrong with me. After that baby was born, I went on birth control pills, yet the celiacs caused me to not absorb properly and I soon was pregnant with baby #5. I love being a mom and there isn't a one I would give up. Yes life can be hectic at times, when my last was born, I had 5 kids under 8 yrs old. AND, yes, some have given me some rough times, yet the love is always there and each one of them know I love them. As long as your grandkids are taken good care of and loved, life is good. I know the visits can be tiring, but the memories are always yours to keep. My kids will not have 5 kids each. My oldest has 2 daughters, he adopted his wife's daughter and they have one together and no more to come--my 2nd son has 2 with his first wife and is marrying a woman with 2 of her own, they will not have more--my 3rd son has 2 with his wife and I do not think they will have anymore--4th son has an 8 month old son with a woman he is not with and my daughter says she is never having any. I thank God for my grandkids, they are the greatest gift your child can give you. Just hug her and tell her she is doing a great job. Deb |
