I have 3 grandsons, and 4 granddaughters. They are all a great joy, although I have not met the youngest little one, his mom and my son are not together and she won't let me see Ethin. She keeps telling my son that he isn't the father, but that little guy is the spitting image of his daddy!

They are little miracles, the greatest gift our children can ever give us.

Congratulations. I am still grandchildless...given the brood I have raised it is surprising. (Maybe not) We have our first wedding coming up next year. I am awaiting having a grandchild that will hopefully remember having a grandma.

Congrats on the blue.

Congrats !!
I don't want to hijack a thread, but I've got 7 grandkids
2 girls and 5 boys ranging in age from 18 to 3, and we found out
(in late March) that there's a 8th on the way.
My daughter's 6th!
We dunno (at least I don't, yet) if its a boy or girl, but my
daughter has 4 boys & a girl (8 y.o.), & she desperately
wants a sister.(she loudly exclaims)
Maybe she'll get her wish.

Default Whoo hoo!!!

Congrats to all of you! I'm right there with you.

I found out a couple of months ago that I was going to be a grandma for the first time. Found out Thursday, for sure, that it's a girl. She's due to arrive Oct 12. Or there abouts....you know how first babies are.

I can't wait. All the fun and none of the responsibility.

From one grannie to another:

Well Bob, I just have to throw my 2 cents in here.

I have 5 kids, yet I probably started at a much younger age than your daughter. I was 17 when I married, a month after graduation from high school. I thought I was in love, now I think I wanted away from home, never new what love was. My first son was born when I was 18 1/2 yrs old. Yet, for as long as I could remember, I always wanted to be a mom and I wanted 6 kids. After 3, I decided 3 was enough, yet too late, I was pregnant with my 4th son by then. My celiac disease had kicked in at full force by now and no one knew what was wrong with me. After that baby was born, I went on birth control pills, yet the celiacs caused me to not absorb properly and I soon was pregnant with baby #5.

I love being a mom and there isn't a one I would give up. Yes life can be hectic at times, when my last was born, I had 5 kids under 8 yrs old. AND, yes, some have given me some rough times, yet the love is always there and each one of them know I love them.

As long as your grandkids are taken good care of and loved, life is good. I know the visits can be tiring, but the memories are always yours to keep. My kids will not have 5 kids each. My oldest has 2 daughters, he adopted his wife's daughter and they have one together and no more to come--my 2nd son has 2 with his first wife and is marrying a woman with 2 of her own, they will not have more--my 3rd son has 2 with his wife and I do not think they will have anymore--4th son has an 8 month old son with a woman he is not with and my daughter says she is never having any. I thank God for my grandkids, they are the greatest gift your child can give you.

Just hug her and tell her she is doing a great job.

Deb
