Default Asymmetrical Presentation of PN
Ok so my tingling, burning and occasional numbness almost exclusively occurs in my left foot and sometimes my left hand. It seldom occurs in my right foot and never in my right hand.

At this point my labs have been normal, EMG was normal, brain and cervical MRI normal.

Does an asymmetrical presentation of PN suggest anything?

Hi - I have neuritis of my left arm/shoulder. This plexus neuritis affects one side, usually. It can be bilateral, but that is more rare. I do not have symptoms of PN anywhere else. I do have body wide twitching, since July 2013, diagnosed as BFS, so I would not attribuite that to my PN in my arm.

What's neuritis? Inflammation of the nerves? Is your condition stable? Idiopathic?

That is what I was told - an inflammation of my nerves that caused nerve damage and which is a kind of neuropathy. It is brand new, I am in a phase of trying pain meds, physiotherapy, small exercises. My arm/shoulder is twitching, aching, throbbing, shaky and is weak. I think idiopathic means "cause not known" - which is my case.

I hope they can get to the bottom of your issue, but I think with PN it can occur in multiple places, on one side or the other.

Yep! - my PN started on one side - left - but has progressed to the right (milder at this stage). From what I've read on the forums this isn't uncommon.

thats funny becauses thats how mine is. unfortunately i dont have pain or numbness yet(possible damage cause loss of sensation thats why). For some reason, eventhough my pins and needles was more severe on my left than my right. My right seems to have abnormal sensations and more pronounce loss of "soft touch sensations" from when the neuropathy first started. but my joints are achey now.

Left side is more dominant then the right side.
First i tot It on My legt Foot then 8 mounths later the right Foot and Both hands followed.
