If I hold my hands straight with my fingers extended, there are all kinds of clicks throughout my hand and fingers. It can be felt by my other hand, other people can feel it, and if I hold it up to my ear, I can hear it.
It also happens sometimes from my elbow to my arm when I am in certain positions engaging the muscle very slightly. Sometimes I will be lying down and my shoulder also clicks. Does this mean motor nerves? |

I have this in my neck, ( really bad, happens with the slightest movement sometimes just breathing) in my forearms and hands. Neurosurgeon said it's probably just ligaments... I don't know what it is.

Yeah it happens in my neck and ears from just breathing also. Very disturbing. That has been happening for about 6 months. The other body parts started about 2 months ago. The neck and ear clicking is not as often, but the pain is still there. So weird. Maybe I don't really want to know what it means.

Yes, I have some clicking in my right hand. My thumb and first 2 fingers will do this on occasion. And sometime my big toe on my right foot.(this was the toe the boulder smashed several years ago).
Clicking is the tendons moving I believe. Snapping/clicking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracking_joints This is less serious and many people have it. Grinding/crunching sounds are called crepitus, and indicate arthritis in some people.. this is typically a more serious sign http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crepitus I have this in my knees.

This isn't what Im trying to explain in my fingers though. It isn't just one or two little crack sounds or feelings. It goes through all fingers when engaging those little muscles to hold them straight. They just make repetitive clicking sounds. It doesn't hurt, so its not the same as the little electric shocks I get. Its really hard to explain. |

I only have this popping or clicking in my legs, usually when I walk barefoot and it's quiet in the house. I haven't heard of this being associated with PN. I have had PN for about 12 years.
