My dr. is prescribing it for my skin burning. Wondering how effective it is for neuropathic pain and what the side effects are.

I keep forgetting who has what and where on this forum. Don't you have full bodywide burning? Are you able to put the cream everywhere all at once? (just asking in case it works for you, it might work for me)

No, I am more of a body wide bruise. The burning for me started in my legs and worked its way to the top of my thighs and now recently started in my arms. The burning part of my neuropathic pain is actually nothing compared to the shooting nerve pains, muscle spasm pain and joint nerve irritation. |

Hi Healthgirl,
I have Lidocaine Infusions for severe Neurological Hypersensitivity - including a burning sensation, especially in my legs - every 4 weeks. When I had 2nd degree burns between my legs and round the "front", viscous Lidocaine was a numbing lifesaver. There are many Members here whose Posts indicate success of their Lidocaine patches. I say, "Go for it!", but be careful to follow the instructions you are given carefully. On 2 respected Medical Advice sites one states to rub the cream in and leave it uncovered, the other states to leave it in a thick layer on the surface and cover with gauze, then wash off after a set time. Pay heed to your prescribing Doctor. Dave.
