Confused AFO Questions

From reading the CMT posts here, I would like to know a few things please. First, what does AFO mean? I can guess but would be embarrassed if I was wrong. Second, I give out after walking 100-150 yards and I read that AFO helps. What DR. evaluates potential wearers? Podiatrist? I have regained strength and balance but in same breath realize that this may be as good as it gets so I am reaching. Amazed that CMT symptoms match w/PN as DX. Good Luck, Ken in Texas.
