Last night the sheets/blankets, bedcovers in general, were bothering me. I have an AC unit in the bedroom so it stays comforable most of the time. This was a first time for me as far as the bedcovers irritating me that I can recall. Course they were kinda bunched up down there. My other half likes his blankets and comforter but I can't sleep with all that. I burn up. So they do tend to get bunched up at the foot of the bed at times when I've pushed them aside. Last night they felt tight and heavy.
I don't sleep on my back and that leads to problems with propping my feet at night. I'll have to think about this for a bit.

I have a problem with my hands and feet going from burning to ice cold. We have an AC in our bedroom as well. The other day when it was hot, I had to keep my feet and hands covered up while the rest of me was hot and needed cooling. I was joking with my mother about how this summer I was going to look pretty funny. Gloves and socks/shoes with shorts and tank tops.
Do any of you have problems with the neuropathy going from burning to cold? Is it poor circulation or just part of the neuropathy?

I do,and as far as sheets,i use jersy one's even if i can only find
one's with Spiderman or Superman. I take them to the hospital with me,it perks the place up,the look on the Dr's face PRICELESS. If you put your feet up swelling usually go down. No matter what we have or how old we are it's usually hurts or feels awful at night. I use to sing to may kids, some nights when i really feel rotten i call them and they sing to me. Good to have any time any where phone deal. ![]() |

They have jersey sheets at target. I'm laying on purple ones right now. My mom and I have that cell phone plan too. Thank goodness as I call her multiple times to vent or cry but trying not to. I have the temp control issue too. I have no idea what it is. I thought too it may be circulation. How is your sleep lately? Mine has been so horrible. I have the jitters, the pain, and now in the I'm so tired cycle where I can't fall asleep. I'm so sensitive to meds yet for sleep they never work even at high doses. Its like all meds do the opposite.

My sleep has been a little better the past few nights. I am feeling a little down right now. I have started to develope a rash which I am waiting for the doctor to call me back to get me in today. It could be from the LAMOTRIGINE that I started on three weeks ago and uped the dosage a week ago. I'm down, because I wonder if they will ever find a medication that will work to get this pain under some control. This was only my third mediction that has failed. I know there are many more.
Thanks, for being there and listening everyone. ![]()

I had the throbbing pain at night when i lay down as well as the stabbing pains. Interferential therapy helped me immensly in getting those pains under control so that i can lay down and go to sleep. I still get some stabbing, burning pain but the throbbing and degree of pain when i lay down is gone.
Right now my main problems and pain, is total numbness of both feet, loss of balance as a result, some stabbing pains and feeling like i am walking on broken bones when i walk or stand for more than a few minutes. |

Well hello there Matia from New Zealand. How are you doing??
I'm Melody and I have diabetic neuropathy. Hey guys, guess what the delivery man delivered this morning. Another Visco Elastic Mattress Topper. 4 inches thick. It sprang right into shape after a few hours. And it came with 2 temper pedic like pillows. We just placed this new one over the other two we have. Now we have 11 inches of an imitation Temper Pedic Mattress. Alan just laid down and I don't think he's getting up any time soon. It's like laying down on a cloud. You would not believe it. I made a video of it to show my friends because they live out of state and they wanted to know what it looked like. *edit* It's exactly like the Temper Pedic but it's way cheaper. We got the queen size. So now we really sleep on clouds. Melody

And welcome Matia, hope we can help in some way..My kids bought me
a Temper Pedic Mattress, wow was i surprised, prhaps it was all those phone calls in the middle of the night for songs. Welll to tell the truth my 2 youngest have beautiful voices, and my oldest is a great story teller. But Joe it's hard to explain numb feet that feels like broken bones, isn't it? You sure get some strange looks, many times from your Dr. There is no way they have not heard that before. I love being very quiet, and stare at them, just to see what there response will be. D i get every color Jersy sheets i can find. I lay on the Superman sheets and think i'm made out of steel. I also put them on my chairs because those chairs are feeling mighty picky. Julie it takes awhile i wish it didn't for pain control,it took me more then 3 yrs. to agree to Morphine Sr. My Dr. gently hugged me and she had a look of such relief. They are small even doses, you not going to feel like you do after surgery. But for (me) they help and no not every Dr. offers this. I'm on 3600 mgs of Neurontin, and my body tells me it's time for them. But i think they may contruibute to the balance problem, and i finally over came the puke feelings. So many of the things on the list caused hive problems. You know when i'm in the hospital in the teaching hospital,i still hear, and why do they talking so loud( these Dr.s )saying how come she's on Morphine for PN. I just ask them to ask my Dr.i don't think ever have, you can be rude to the paitient, but afaid of there dr.s I have a brother who was never in the hospital except at birth, does he try to understand my pain no and i hope he never has to. But some of these Dr's oh just for 3 hrs. and bless the one's we can call in the night. and bless you all for just being here and understanding. ![]() |
