Default Wet suit for pool

Hi,
I have SFN everywhere and am now wearing only cotton and silk.
When I wear a swimsuit (one piece made of Lycra and nylon), it is no longer too painful once I get into warm, handicapped pool water.
If I get a wet suit, do you think I can tolerate normal temperature pool?
Any experience with that?
TIA

Hi baba,
The wet suit would be great for temperature.
I've worn wetsuits in the ocean. They're not so easy to put on is the only problem although there are tricks to getting them on more easily. I'm also not sure how they would work with your pain because they are quite tight against the skin.

Thank you Lara. I ordered one size up. Fingers crossed.

Good for you.
Please let us know how it goes.

A tip - wet body wet suit. easier to slip on.

They make "flex" wetsuits now that are very easy to get on and off and don't fit quite as snugly. I pitched all my other ones.

I use to compete in triathlon and am very familiar with putting on and wearing wetsuits. Wetsuits are difficult to get into and may very well chafe you. Even the cheap ones are expensive.

When I first started this horrible neuropathy journey, I wasn't sure what was wrong with me. I went from being a high level athlete to having extreme fatigue (and burning, of course). I tried to combat the fatigue by doing water walking in a warm pool (91F). This was okay for a little while, but soon I discovered that it was setting off a delayed burning across most of my body.

Once I figured out that the warm pool was doing my body a major disservice and was too warm (and that I had SFN symptoms), I moved to the sport pool (85F). My fatigue was better by then and I started participating in some of the water aerobics classes. In this pool I often freeze and shiver. I will wear a one piece TYR swimsuit and have added an O'Neill rash guard long sleeve shirt to stay warm. This is the best solution that I've come up with. Please let me know how your experiment goes!

My burning delay was anywhere between 6 hours and 72 hours.
