Does anyone know if there is a scientific reason why most PN gets worse at night?
Luckily my husbands does not, and never has. I know, I know, he should be happy and he is. But just wondered why he should be the reverse of 99.9% of the postings I see. Thank you. Linda |

My pain gets worse at night. I went to rheumatalodist doc to check for fibromyalgia. She said no to fibro. Part of reason is she said fibro is worse in morning and gets better at night.
I don't have scientific explanation. Sorry.

Mine gets worse during the day while I'm on my feet, then improves at night. That is one reason why the neuromuscular specialist didn't diagnose me with PN - he said that pain would be worse at night if I had PN.
Unfortunately, he didn't give me any explanation as to "why" that is. So, I don't have a diagnosis, although I certainly have most of the symptoms... |

I did find an old thread about why PN is worse at night. When I am reading a thread at the bottom of page there are similar questions.

I think he's wrong and you are in the know. My body did the same thing for the first year. Then switched to night pain with much less in the day. I got my diagnosis when it was just a little day pain and no night pain at all. |
