Only things I can wear are squishy nike flip-flops. They are worth the $25 and I buy one or two a year.
Saucony tr sneakers are wider and have more room and are THE only brand I can wear. I have had foot pain for 10 years and these are my rusty trusties. If I'm feeling fancy I can tolerate the sketchers go walks.

I use Arcopedicos classic for dress... and my athletic shoes which I wear in public are New Balance men's for the wide toe box. My podiatrist insists on a wide toe box. Women's wide = men's medium.

Quite amusing, Jon! :D

I would try memory foam insoles.
I have memory foam area rugs in my bathroom to help to cushion between my feet and the floor. It helps so much! :)

I had found a site where they add another 1/4 to the depth of shoes in order to allow for thicker insoles. I have since lost the link to the site. Will keep looking.

Good idea about the rugs. Tile floors are my arch (ha) enemy. If i hit the grout and tile at the same time, i become very unhappy.

This is such a stupid, weird situation we deal with. Even my own kids look at me like I'm lying when i complain about certain things hurting me. My wife has heard it all and doesnt blink.

I like the squishy flip flops for the feel, but don't you find that the little support they give seems to fade quickly? Maybe Nikes are different?

I do a bit of gardening and find the 'Sloggers' garden shoes really comfortable to wear - also supportive for high arches. They are available in US.

Thanks for the chuckle. I'll put on my finest guitar pick earrings tomorrow and go for extra fancy with the Go Walks. :D

Sketchers were exactly what my were raving about, but I don't think she was pushing the fancy portion to get my attention. If they have a brown model, ah, now that she would have brought up!

PN shoes

I tried the Skechers Go Walks and they felt great at first. Then I tried to wear them to work and could not wait to get them off my feet. Something about the clingy fabric really hurt the neuropathy. I found the Minnetonka deer skin or moosehide wide width shoes are about the only shoes I can wear for any length of time. The leather is really soft.

I wear shoes with orthopedic support insoles. The shoes are a half size large so I can wear them with a thick sock. Somehow this works for me.

Have you tried flip-flops by OluKai? Great arch support!!

A bit on the expensive side, but the arch support is priceless... ;)
