I have been taking most days for close to 3 months, 500mg of Inosine. My thinking is, those who have a fear for these supplements should not take them. Believe me, I could try so many pharma drugs, but will not. |

Almost all products go through many processes while being manufactured, probably most go though a "lab" of some sort and the manufacturing plant where it is bottled and packaged.. So mistakes can happen anywhere along the line.
It may depend on the "source" and each person's personal preferences.

I think they are essential. Not everything is technically a supplement though. When compared to things like anti-seizure meds, opiods and narcotics I think there really is no reason to have any fear. I have felt some temporary relief with B-12 in high dosage as well as R-Lipoic acid. Problem with R-Lipoic is if I take to much i lose too much weight. So i have to cycle it on and off. Chromium and Inositol are great at keeping blood sugar levels at a modest level. The key thing is to understand that supplements also have side effects, so you have to stay on top of your dosages and the occurrence of any unusual symptoms. Also, seek out reputable supplement providers. there are ones out there that are not potent or have questionable sources.

Just a reminder... as this thread is going off topic.
Inosine is not homeopathic. It is used in relatively high doses as a supplement. It can increase uric acid in the body, and this can lead to joint inflammation due to gout. This increase in uric acid has been investigated as a possible treatment for Parkinson's. So while homeopathic products are highly diluted, into millionths of concentration, inosine is not.

Patrick and all, you are preaching to the choir. It was me who went to the ER back in the 80's with a stomach ulcer from a pharma drug which I was taking for back pain. That was the time when my thinking began to change big time.
And then there is my daughter who went thru "H" and back from drug interactions...she was on life support at one point. She went thru so much believing in the drugs and her doctors. She happened to be a pharmacy tech and knew all the drugs....but not the interactions obviously. She was young. Including opiads. I'm just so happy she was not one of the 100,000 that didn't make it. She was given the chance to see her children grow up. Long long story on her life and issues. So I continue to use some homeopathics as some do help me. |
