Hi Icelander,
Vibrational Medicine and/or Energy Medicine is a huge topic.
I don't feel I can do justice to this topic in a post or on this forum.
I might work on a list of references and/or links when I feel much better.
I would strongly encourage anyone interested to do some research.
I had stumbled upon this "by accident," several tears ago, while observing a forum which taught these theories and techniques. The theories are based upon Quantum Physics. (This particular online forum no longer exists in an open format, or I would gladly invite you to observe/participate, to meet some of the scientists and practitioners. It is quite a treat to come to an understanding on this topic, to realize these scientists are credible and serious about this work, to meet the dedicated practitioners involved in advancing practices and knowledge.)
After having observed the open sharing, the projects, the shared understandings on this open forum for quite awhile, I had clearly voiced my strong disbelief. I was very skeptical. I had expressed my skepticism and had challenged a team of practitioners to "try to" channel Life Force Energy through the Unified Field of energy, directly affecting me, as a long-distance target. None of the practitioners accepting the challenge were located within my state. They were located at various locations in the U.S. and in other countries. I had challenged a large group of practitioners to hit me with their best shot of energy work, all weekend long.
I had then very quickly realized my ignorance.

I was very affected by this Universal Life Force Energy channeling, all weekend long. I was very relaxed, I was very comfortable ( when I had otherwise been in severe and relentless pain). Heat was emanating off of my body, which was strongly felt by me, by my husband and other family members... and more.
We had repeated the challenges, and/or had designed new challenges. I was ignorant! Those already "in the know" had already known the proposed challenges were not challenges at all, as they already had a deep understanding of the principles at work. They were very patient with me and with my ignorance.
The rest is history. I had eventually started researching more, learning more, taking classes, designing group projects, etc.
We hear of various types of vibrational medicine/energy medicine. We hear of prayer, of Reiki, of acupuncture and Qi Gong. We sometimes also hear of Quantum Touch, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and other modalities. There are many different modalities and the field keeps growing.
We now know ancient civilizations, especially spiritual communities, had knowledge of these understandings and practices.
Richard Gerber, M.D. wrote quite a book many years ago now, entitled,
Vibrational Medicine.
Larry Dossey, M.D., wrote a book on vibrational medicine and prayer, quite some time ago now. He and his wife have written many books since and dedicate their lives to educating society about science, spirituality, healing. His work is outlined at
www.dosseydossey.com and at:

Lynn McTaggart has conducted research and has written many books on the Unified Field of Energy,
The Field that ties us all together in a sea of energy. She has also researched and written on the power of intention in her book,
The Intention Experiment. Fascinating work.

Lynne is well-known in the U.K. for another one of her books and her monthly magazine, "What Doctors Won't Tell You," which uncovers medical myth/untruths. Various political groups have been trying to ban her magazine from the shelves in the U.K.

Many other international scientists are involved in researching/proving vibrational medicine/energy medicine, etc. Those I have mentioned, both modalities and researchers/authors are simply the tip of the iceberg.
I believe we are just beginning to understand how to best employ energy medicine/vibrational medicine, for the good of humanity and the planet, for the good of all Sentient Beings. We are learning how to efficiently and effectively work with energy/vibrational entrainment, both locally (hands-on or in very close proximity with others) and non-locally (distant work).
If anyone is interested in learning more, I'd highly recommend Lynne McTaggart's books as a great place to start. Her work is based upon science. She explains the foundational knowledge needed to understand the principles involved in energy medicine.
I am very fascinated by this topic and have done a great deal of study and experimentation with large groups of international practitioners.
Is this a controversial topic? Yes. However, it is less controversial with each passing day. I have seen the science, the modalities, the entire field of practice and knowledge grow at a tremendous rate over the past several years. It's very exciting to see the growth in understanding and in application/practice.
I am sorry I cannot offer more by way of information/education at this time. This field of study is one I love and deeply respect. I'd love to share much more. For now, due to recent exacerbations in daily health challenges, I am simply focusing on getting through each day, like so many others here.
I imagine you might also find this a fascinating field of interest, Icelander.
You have a very open mind.
Warmly,
DejaVu
P.S. One of the modalities often also taught to nurses and often offered in medical settings is: "Healing Touch."

Donna Eden is a well-known teacher. She teaches us how to take care of our own energy systems.

Again, an exciting topic and far too much information and too many modalities to try to cover here.
