I had a pretty good day yesterday considering my situation.
Then the night came... Around 3 AM I couldn't take it anymore and I had to take meds and eat a snack. Everything was pulsing, throbbing, shooting, stinging, twitching, my breathing was short and rapid, my neck and shoulders were all abuzz. So in the brief 1/2 hour that the meds provide relief, I listened to the downpours outside and looked at the weather forecast. I was curious to see what the migraine alert was since I had a head pain too and I'm trying to track my allnighters for whens and whys. According to accuweather, there is a big red exclamation point for high arthritis risk for today, and the pressure is dropping. The migraine weather says its beneficial for today though. I thought that migraine and arthritis weather related pain were brought on by the same weather conditions. I know it has something to do with the pressure drop. Anyone know what the difference is? |

I would have thought the same as you....that that type of weather worsened both conditions.....have no idea what the difference is but I can tell you I have suffered mightily this week. It's been rainy and misting all week and overcast. I have been in the bed more than out of it and if I don't take my pain meds on time I really have a hard time trying to bring the pain level back down.
I had migraines years ago and thank goodness mine have been controlled by Tenormin for years.....25 mg a day and he said I would have to take it for the rest of my life. The dr was just my PCP at the time and said his college roommate was helped by this med. No dr ever did an MRI which I think is usually done when someone has migraines so I might have a tumor the size of Texas in my head.....oh wait....no I don't...I had a PET scan after my chemo ended an they would have found it then right ?.....lol....sorry about that dark humor. Take care Healthgirl and I'll be curious to see what other posters have to say about the weather. Debi from Georgia |

It's the barometric pressure that's doing it. When it's high or on the move up or down.

My arthritis and PN flare alike with low pressure storms/weather.
I don't get migraines, so I cannot comment on those however. Weather is a huge factor for me with highs making me feel better and lows being pain filled.

This dreary, rainy, autumn day is like living a The Cure song or something.
