I spent some time in a chamber for a possible scuba incident. I still don't know if I had a mild case of the bends or not, but the treatment did make my numb spot go away. My first go-round was at night, and I was the only one in the chamber with a critical care nurse. The follow-up sessions were with a boatload of people...at least 20 or so...and some very sick (as in dying it seemed). This chamber was at the the major Baltimore trauma center, so it was a biggie. Everybody was sitting in typical medical recliners except the really sick ones who were lying down on gurneys. It's not an experience I'd care to repeat, but if it would help get rid of this neuropathy, I certainly would. I had to say, though, the energy you have coming out of it is amazing. I was effectively awake all night that first night and felt incredible. Oh look, I found a picture of the chamber I was in. https://twitter.com/paramedickiwi/st...16698244497408 _________________________ |
Well that's quite the machine! I was thinking of the single occupant ones. They run about $100-200 per hour session here in Canada, I learned today. Not bad considering. But they're not covered by the socialized health system, not for PN at any rate.
I used to dive a lot too, almost weekly for about 6 months. I miss it a great deal. Quote:

I found one!
Janieg, that is an amazing looking chamber. It reminds me of a submarine! Just feeling amazing and having energy would be such a gift.
I just spoke to the Nurse Practitioner at the non-hospital center that was recommended. It costs $175. You can buy packages for less. I will try it in January. Quote:

I hope it proves useful for you. Not sure I can afford it at this time.

There's an alarming number of veterans committing suicide everyday so one of the treatments they're using "off label" for the treatment of TBI/PTSD is Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. Here's a link to the article; http://hyperbaricmedicalsolutions.co...ise-awareness/ The largest hyperbaric chamber in the Northeastern United States is only a 25 minute drive from me measuring 9 feet in diameter and 28 feet long. I'm sure it's expensive and probably not covered for PN. http://phelpshospital.org/clinical-s...pMoaArUv8P8HAQ Cliffman :) |
